The Ferrybox system has been removed, prior to the planned January refit of the Pride of Bilbao. The system is expected to be back on line in February 2008.

February 2007

The Pride of Bilbao resumed sending data on the 15th Feb 2007, internal logging of data started on the 4th Feb 2007 with her first sailing from Portsmouth after her annual refit.Currently data for temperature, salinity and fluorescence are being displayed on this page.
On 4 Feb we started tests measuring pCO2 using the ProOceanus "CO2 Pro" instrument in a system with Aanderaa temperature, conductivity and oxygen sensors. These tests will continue until late April. This system will then be transferred to the Swire Shipping MV Pacific Celebes. The Celebes operates on a global route out of Singapore.

The FerryBox equipment was first fitted on the P&O Pride of Bilbao in April 2002. Since then data has been transmitted to NOC using the Orbcomm satellite system and displayed on this webpage in real time. (Graphs of data accumulated via the satellite through 2002 to 2006 are available through links above). In 2002 the sensors for measuring water temperature, salinity, and fluorescence were installed. In 2005 extra sensors measuring turbidity, the concentration of dissolved oxygen and the partial pressure of carbon dioxide were fitted along with sensors monitoring the movement of the ship. The graphs on the right below show the raw un-quality controlled data from the ferry as it is being collected over the real-time link in 2007. The data may also be down loaded using the links below.

No plot is currently available. This page will be updated automatically when data is received from the Pride of Bilbao
